What is Bowen Technique?

Bowen Therapy is a form of bodywork. During a session, you will lie relaxed and as comfortable as possible on a treatment table. The therapist will apply a series of gentle movements on and over your muscles, nerves, tendons and fascia. Pauses of time between sets of these movements are given to allow your body to respond and let go of negative patterns. 
Bowen Therapy's beneficial effects are usually felt immediately. Follow up treatments are generally scheduled a week apart. Most clients will see positive results within 3-5 sessions.

As a general rule of thumb, most services follow the following structure, however, please review our complete list of services for pricing.

• 30-minute appointments are $60.
 • 60-minute appointments are $100.
 • 90-minute appointments are $140.

It all depends! For pain, we recommend Bowen Technique or Massage Therapy. For decompression and posture we recommend the Alexander Technique or Craniosacral Therapy. For stress, Reiki or Reiki Mobilization. For life in general, Access Bars, Emotional Clearing, End-of-Life Care, Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, Intuitive Readings, PSYCH-K®, or Visceral Manipulation. Take your pick!

Where do I park?

Carlisle Bowen Works has access to street parking along both sides of Main Street (Mechanicsburg, PA) and a small attached-parking lot around back for client use. Both are unmetered and free!

Will insurance cover my visit?

For this, please make sure to check with your specific insurance company.  We do accept HSA and FSA cards for our services. Submitting a copy of your visit’s receipt may facilitate this process.

What happens in a combination service?

When two services are combined, for example a Reiki Session & Bowen Technique, there is one practitioner who incorporates multiple modalities with a single client during a single session.
